    ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

Sawai Madhopur Judgeship came into existence as an independent judicial unit in 1977, after being separated from Bharatpur Judgeship. Shri O.P. Jain was the first District and Sessions Judge of this Judgeship. Karauli, which was previously a part of Sawai Madhopur, became a separate district in 1997, following which a separate Judgeship was established at Karauli.
At present, the Sawai Madhopur Judgeship has a total of 24 courts, including the District and Sessions Court. Out of these, 13 courts are functioning at the district headquarters. Seven courts are functioning at Gangapur City, while one court each is functioning at Bonli, Khandar, Bamanwas and Chauth Ka Barwara.
Earlier, all the courts situated at the district headquarters were functioning in the Collectorate building. Subsequently, these courts were shifted to the new court building on 10.11.2011.
At present, Smt. Anu Agrawal is posted as the District and Sessions Judge, Sawai Madhopur.
