History
Sawai Madhopur Judgeship came into existence as an independent judicial unit in 1977, after being separated from Bharatpur Judgeship. Shri O.P. Karauli, which was previously a part of Sawai Madhopur, became a separate district in 1997, following which a separate Judgeship was established at Karauli.

Seven courts are functioning at Gangapur City, while one court each is functioning at Bonli, Khandar, Bamanwas and Chauth Ka Barwara.
